Day 348 - big gold flowers

I love this pair: lovely and showy! Which seemed suitable for the opening night of our amazing show. A most successful opening night if I do say so myself.

Man, I love these people.

Day 347 - drag queen chandeliers

I love this pair. I bought them for my sister's 21st which had a fantasy theme. I got to wear a purple cape which is possibly the coolest thing in the history of the planet.

I hired that cape and was very sad to have to give it back. But then my fantabulous aunt found me a purple velvet cape so I now really do own a cape. And it is fully awesome. And currently can be seen on stage at the Masque in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), although I don't wear it.

Day 346 - large silver dream catchers

As my sister remarked when I wore these, it would appear that I have quite a lot of dream catcher earrings. Five previous ones in fact: the delicate pair from Day 279, the slightly larger but still modest pair from Day 145, Day 298's slightly larger again pair, the fairy pair from Day 107 and the small in terms of the dream catcher but not in terms of the feathers pair from Day 244. And now these, slightly bigger ones. I also have a rather enormous pair of dream catchers I found in Chinatown last weekend so that's seven dream catchers in all. Yup, that's quite a few.

Day 345 - purple leopard print

I suspect these were another R10 pair because I don't like to think I spent more than that! Having said that, I do quite like these, even if they are not at first glance something I would immediately choose.

Wore them on Tuesday to our first rehearsal with an actual audience. OK, so there were 6 people but it made such a difference. We are so ready for this show.

Day 344 - Kenya circles

I bought these in Kenya, which I visited (and may have mentioned once or twice since) back on Day 129.

Day 343 - purple leaves

One from the supplementary collection. I like these, rather obviously, because they're purple. I left them at the theatre today by accident because I had to take them off for tech rehearsal and then was so mentally and physically exhausted afterwards that I forgot to put them back on. So I ended up at my friend's house visiting the Tribe baby sans earrings. Sacrilege.

Day 342 - silver triangles

I may have mentioned before that I like triangles. Definitely like these ones. Plus they make a lovely tinkly sound.

Day 341 - silver lizards

Another pair I adopted because it not being worn by its previous owner. I think they're really cool. Even though they're not the same shape, they make me think of Shmuzzles. My parents have a couple of those puzzles - they are damned hard but really fun to try and oh so satisfying when you finally get them right!

Day 340 - banana leaf rings

Like the spirals from Day 21, these are made from rolled banana leaves. They are from my supplementary collection so I've no idea where they come from originally. Probably a flea market or similar stall.

Day 339 - red necklaces

More necklaces that work better as earrings! They attended a very uplifting rehearsal today. We even had a bit of an audience which was nice. Plus their feedback was super positive so I am now very excited for this play to open!

Day 338 - gold ladies

This is an interesting pair. I bought it from one of those stands in the mall (Kenilworth Centre actually) because they were R10. I can't resist R10 earrings.

Day 337 - dangly hoops

No idea where these are from, but they're fun. I wore them to the CATAs on Monday, which made me realise we must be nearing a year of earrings now because I distinctly remember writing that about another pair of earrings last year. Well, that and the fact that we are now under 30 days away from 365 ...

Day 336 - green peace signs

If I remember correctly, these were part of my Christmas present from my sister. I wore them to a super energetic rehearsal on Sunday - 6 hours we worked. But the show is in fantastic shape so it was all worth it.

Day 335 - silver chains

Today was supposed to be a pyjama day in which I didn't leave my house or even put on proper clothes. That didn't happen though since I had to take my friend home in the morning so I had to put on clothes. So I went shopping too. Yes, I bought earrings. And things that aren't earrings but soon will be. Don't judge me.

Then another friend dropped by with some pink bubbly wine and Nik Naks so it turned into a whole day. Oh well. Here's to Nik Naks!

Day 334 - pretty colours

These are pretty - and sparkly. I think I got them as a present cause they're not the sort of thing I would buy for myself. I like them though.

The stones on the one kept trying to make a run for it when I wore them. In fact the whole one earring kept falling off my ear. Useless butterfly. I must remember to use rubber stops when I wear these again.

I wore them on Friday to get my hair fabloused by the fabulous Marius:

Pink and blue and purple everywhere. I am a magnificent unicorn.

Day 333 - more butterflies

These are like a morph of Day 3 and Day 181, so a properly Kim pair of earrings. Plus they look sort of Chinatown-eque.

Day 332 - dog tags

I got these when I was about 16 - think my Dad had them made for me. They are actually proper dog tags with my full name, blood type and ID number, but since I stopped wearing any sort of necklace quite a few years ago I decided it was time they became earrings. Pretty cool ones, I think.

Day 331 - colourful triangles

I think I bought these at a shop at Cape Town station. I like them for the interesting colours and also because they're triangles. I wore them for our first rehearsal on the stage for The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), which opens on 25 February. Speaking of which, we have a poster!

We are fabulous.

Day 330 - Bubbly cards

These are what you get your tasting credits on at the annual Franschhoek Bubbly Fest. I obviously had multiple floating around so of course they needed to be turned into earrings. They got a lot of comments, I must say. One person even asked me if I was a designer. Yeah, right!

Day 329 - green T-rexes

The third of the dinosaurs that go with those from Day 209 and Day 241. As I explained on Day 209, these were part of a set of three key rings with augmentations reading "Best" "Friends" "Forever". At the risk of sounding soppy, these were completely fitting for today since I spent the day with four of my very best friends as we built the set for our show, which is happening later this month.

Sort of a side note, since I went home and changed earrings after set build (don't worry, I changed clothes too), I also went to Roxette's 30th anniversary tour concert today. So many memories, and so much respect for Marie. I saw them when they were in Cape Town in 2012 and I am so impressed she is still sticking with the performing. She doesn't have to. But she wants to. I was struck also by how behind her the fans are. You could feel the whole crowd supporting her as she strove to sing, and when she faltered, the crowd was there to take up the lyrics. That's impressive. In fact, it must have been love.

When she was singing "Watercolours in the Rain", there was a drunk group of girls standing behind me that were being loud and obnoxious and we were all shooting poisonous looks at. Someone eventually admonished them to "Shut up!" and, I swear, the whole of Golden Circle nodded in approval.

Day 328 - more gold bangles

Like the pair from day 295, I believe these began their lives as bangles. Well, too bad. I don't wear bangles.

They certainly attracted quite a bit of comment today when I went to the Franschhoek Summer Wines festival at Leopard's Leap. Love that venue: absolutely gorgeous and they make some pretty darned delicious cocktails. We spent a wonderful day there, sampling wine, drinking cocktails and talking kak (as we do), and rounded off the day with some wine-soaking-up carbs at one of my favourite places: The Station pub. Cheers, girls!

Day 327 - bead flamingos

I made these for my mother because she complained she had no flamingo earrings. So when I found these (key rings, unsurprisingly, though I can't remember where I found them), I simply had to buy them and transform them.

I have recently rewatched all five seasons of Boston Legal so of course these make me think of Alan Shore and Denny Crane:

Day 326 - glass crystals

Ooh, I like how this picture has turned out. Somewhat trippy. The earrings are pretty too, if a bit heavy. As I discovered when I tried to warm up for rehearsal wearing them. I hurt myself. So of course, being sensible, I took them off and didn't wear them to rehearsal, meaning that it appeared to my friends as if I had forgotten to wear earrings. Heaven forfend.

Day 325 - purple flowers

Yay for purple! These are from my supplementary collection which is a bit unfortunate really because I will from now on associate these with feeling good about myself. This is because I was told by three separate people today that I looked particularly nice. A confidence booster indeed.

Day 324 - carved wooden discs

This pretty pair was a Christmas gift from one of my colleagues, designed by a friend of hers for her Babloos jewellery range.

Day 323 - more silver ellies

Also a craft shop pair but with a different feel from the previous pair of elephants. These are much more Indian in feel. I always think of Indian elephants as being not quite real elephants, because their ears are too small. Which is quite funny because I've actually ridden (and fed) an Indian elephant whereas the African ones I've only encountered while in a car.

Day 322 - vintage purple danglies

Another present from a friend who doesn't wear them, mainly, she says, because she'd be worried she'd hurt herself with them. I did hurt myself with them by flinging my head around rather dramatically. In my defence, we were in rehearsal at the time which I think is a perfectly legitimate place to be dramatic.
