Another Kenya pair today. And today is gross day! (By which I mean the number, not that it was a bad day in any way, because it wasn't.) I was very interested to learn today that the reason 12 as a base number was popular (as evidenced by the specialised terms dozen and gross to describe 12 and its square) was because you could easily count to 12 using your hand by touching each finger bone with your thumb.
